RED CREEK JASPER
Also known as Chinese Picasso Stone or New Picasso Jasper. This is a fairly new material from a deposit found in northwestern China 3-4 years ago. It is named, not for it’s colour, but from the stream that runs through the mining area. The colours are all natural but it is not a true Jasper - mineralogical testing has not yet determined the chemical makeup of this stone, but it is softer than true jaspers and some say its a type of marble. These beads come in a variety of interesting patterns in shades of rusty red, ochre, taupe and gray.
It is believed by many to bring balance and relaxation and like other Jaspers is a protection and grounding stone. It can also promote happiness, tranquility, compassion and self-discipline.
